'Industrial effluents refer to the wastewater or liquid waste generated by industrial activities’. These effluents often contain various pollutants, including heavy metals, toxic chemicals, organic compounds, and other contaminants that can have detrimental effects on the environment and human health if not properly managed and treated.

Several countries around the world face significant challenges in dealing with industrial effluents. Some of the countries facing prominent issues related to industrial effluents include:

1. China:
